Why did we reformulate our Major Glow Highlighter Duos?

We strive to make every single product with heart and innovation – because we always want to give you the best. With innovation comes trial, and while our original highlighters were stunning, we knew we could make them even better. The production process is complex and delicate, especially when you explore cutting edge concepts like our duos. But now, after 76 rounds in the lab, we are proud to share our new and improved highlighter formula, brought to life in the way we always imagined.

What are the key differences between the new formula and the original?

If you used our original highlighters, you’ll still get that natural glow you loved, but with this new formula, we took the product performance to the next level. The new crème feels smoother and was formulated with higher melting point waxes that just blend into the skin, while the powder now has a gel-hybrid base giving it a unique silky texture. Each shade also has a little more pearl and color payoff that you can see glowing on the skin!

A few of the original shades experienced unexpected texture softening last year. What is the texture like of the new formula?

Our updated crème highlighter has a new blend of waxes that give you the perfect dewy glow while also maintaining the structure of the formula. Because it contains natural oils and waxes, it may soften in higher temperatures. If you experience this, please allow the product to return to room temperature and store upright in a cool, dry place. This won’t affect the product performance or payoff and you will be good to glow!

Are there any new ingredients?

Our crème highlighter includes a new blend of lightweight oils and butters to nourish skin, improve elasticity, and boost radiance and glow.

Squalane: for a boost of healthy glow

The crème highlighter has a smooth texture that diffuses seamlessly into the skin, imparting a fresh, dewy finish with a sheer wash of illuminating shimmer. The lighweight powder highlighter is super silky with a soft-focus finish and high-impact shimmer. Use these highlighters on their own, or follow Patrick’s crème-over-powder technique for glistening, long-lasting results.

Highlighter Application Technique

This Patrick Ta duo is the top highlighter for wearable, red carpet-ready beauty look. For a multidimensional moment, we recommend layering the crème and the powder with just two simple steps.

Start by using the fluffy side of our Dual-Ended Highlighter brush to sweep the powder highlighter over the skin. Continue blending until you’ve reached your desired coverage.

Next, reach for the crème. Use the dense end of our Dual-Ended Highlighter Brush to apply the highlighter on top of the powder. By stamping motion, you’ll keep your makeup underneath in place.

As far as where to apply highlighter, we recommend focusing on the high points of the face, such as the tops of the cheekbones, the brow bones, and the bridge of the nose. This helps lift and accentuate your features while energizing your complexion.
