What Is Transition Blush?

Transition Blush is a two-step blush system from Patrick Ta Beauty that bridges the gap between concealer and cheek color. It includes a Liquid Transition Brightening Blush worn before your powder blush to brighten the undereye, and a Transition Blurring Blush Duo worn after to diffuse color across the in-between space. The brush? A new Dual-Ended Transition Blush Brush. Together, they create a soft, blurred wash that connects the eyes to the cheeks in Patrick's signature style, flawless, lifted, and lit from within.

Blush the Cheeks

Apply Major Headlines Powder Blush to the apples of the cheeks using the fluffy side of the Dual-Ended Precision Blush Brush.

Blur the In-Between

Transition Blush is designed to bridge complexion and blush. The collection includes a brightening liquid and blurring powder duo that softly diffuses color from the undereyes to the cheeks for a seamless blend.

Why do I need this product?

It’s how Patrick takes your blush from beautiful to brightened, blurred, and even better. The extra two steps make all the difference for flawless, seamless application every single time.
If you ever have a hard time blending your blush, these products make it so seamless and flawless every time.
Before Transition Blush, Patrick had to mix so many different products and techniques to get that flawless gradient effect. To simplify the process, he took the time to create a 3-step Transition Blush system. Made to brighten, blush, and blur.

How is this different from blush duos?

Transition Blush is the perfect product pairing to our blush duos—not meant to replace them.
Transition Blush is a 3-step system involving our blush duo, not replacing it—designed to brighten, blush, and blur from undereye to cheek.
Transition Blush formulas are softer and more sheer than my blush duos to give you that seamless gradient from undereye to cheek.

How much liquid transition should I apply?

Patrick recommends starting with one swipe of liquid on the back of your hand and really working it into the brush. It’s all about preference and how much product you are comfortable with.

What is the difference between powder and liquid transition blush?

Liquid: This is a mixing medium to put into your concealer. It creates a seamless blend, brightening and tinting to match the style of blush you’re wearing that day.
Depending on your blush, you can use this product to mix into your concealer to create whatever brightening undereye you want.
Powder: This is the finishing step. It’s a sheer and blurring veil of color. You can think of this as a blush topper or finishing powder with a hint of color.

Is the liquid transition a color corrector?

Our Liquid brightening transition is not a color corrector. It’s made to enhance, lift, and brighten your blush with a hint of pigment that matches your blush.
Each shade gives you a hint of pigment on the skin, made to blend into your blush duo.

Can the liquid transition replace concealer? Do I have to apply them together?

No, this should not replace concealer or be applied to bare skin! It’s a lasting tint of color that’s meant to be mixed with concealer, creating a soft flush and seamless blend from undereyes to the cheeks.
Patrick always works it into a brush before applying. This prevents any harsh lines, allowing your application to be that much more seamless.

Do I need both transition blushes to get the look?

Patrick designed our liquid and powder transition blushes to be used as a system, where one product melts into the next. This is what gives you that brightening and blurred gradient effect.
If you're a blush lover, use our liquid and powder transition blushes with our Major Headlines Blush Duo. If you’re a blush beginner, just use our original blush duo, then top it off with our blurring transition blushes.

Can I mix and match between powder and liquid shades?

Yes, you can mix and match to customize your color! Patrick loves applying All or Nothing to create his Sunset Sorbet look. It’s a sheer tangerine shade that brings the perfect touch of warmth to the high points of the cheekbones. You can pair it with any blush.

What order do I apply Transition Blush?

Step 1. BRIGHTEN the undereyes with brightening transition liquid
Step 2. BLUSH the cheeks with crème & powder blush duo
Step 3. BLUR the in-between with blurring transition powder
Always apply Transition Blush after your base makeup—it’s not made for bare skin.

Why are there two powders in Transition Blurring Blush Duo?

Patrick made two shades so you can customize your color. Swirl them together or apply separately. For the high-glam look Patrick loves, you can also use the lighter shade to bake under the eyes.

All Or Nothing is our most universal shade, so you can use it with any liquid transition blush.
